Celebrating the Creative Journey – Drama-try: A Dramatic Night of Poetry

Saturday, April 21
7:00PM - 10:00PM

3535 Main Street
Houston, Texas 77002

Join The Ensemble Theatre as we Celebrate the Creative Journey with Drama-try. Saturday, April 21 at 7:00pm.

Drama-try is a night of drama-infused poetry in celebration of National Poetry Month and featuring some of Houston’s new and well-known performance poets.  There is a pre-event mixer with music, bar, and vendors.

Act One, The Ensemble Theatre’s new community of young professionals, is kicking off their 7th annual poetry showcase with Host Joe P with Mixology by DJ Tony Hustle and a fantastic line-up of four poets keeping the drama on stage.  Featuring: Raie Crawford, Sunny CeLight, Kodak, and Self the Poet!

The event raises funds to support the endeavors of Act One Young Professionals, and to cultivate the next generation of theatre supporters with a scholarship for a youth aged 6-17 to participate in the theatre’s Young Performers Program (performing arts education).

Come enjoy this 21 and up event as we explore the uncut and uncensored Male and Female perspectives on D-R-A-M-A. — Recommended for mature audiences due to some adult language.

Host Committee: Andrea Browne, Mark Martin, Carl McGowan, Henry Mosley, Robert Ross, Tiffany Thomas, Pamela Ulmer

This year The Ensemble Theatre is Celebrating the Creative Journey in a series of special projects and presentations outside our main stage season. The staged readings, exploratory works, and collaborative ventures are designed to showcase developing productions, cultivate new artists, and expose audiences to the variety of artistic expression Houston has to offer

Celebrating the Creative Journey is generously funded in part by the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance.
